recommendations for specific outcomes and then having the customer implement them diligently requires considerable trust on both sides. The client has to trust my expertise and also that I will have their best interests at heart. And I also have to trust that the client is genuinely prepared to make changes in order to create positive outcomes.
In March of this year I consulted to a particular couple living in Sydney. They were residing in a well located apartment in a good area with magnificent views. It all looked great but other than the love that they had for each other, very little else was working in their life – harmony, health, business and finances were floundering.
Upon assessing their specific circumstances the recommendations made, although not excessive were certainly challenging to appreciate – especially without having anything concrete to go on – no history of Feng Shui use and its subsequent benefits.
In particular, the man of the house was rather skeptical and incredibly unimpressed with my suggestions, but trusted in his wife’s appreciation of the importance of environment and the way in which it impacts on life. So, to their credit, they bit the bullet, rolled up their sleeves and changed the furniture and composition of each room except the kitchen. This was a major reshuffling of the entire home and they had to place their trust not only in me but also the entire process.
This was a reasonably small three bedroom home where they were also operating a young business from their open plan living area.
The intention was to create separate spaces for living, home office and bedrooms so as to increase harmony in their relationship/s and additional financial success. Within that particular home there was only one way to achieve the desired outcomes.
Moving from their spacious and highly desirable master bedroom into a smaller secondary bedroom so that we could improve harmony in relationship and increase overall consistency and stability in life was critical in order to successfully achieve the desired outcomes. And, understandably moving ‘down’ into a much smaller bedroom is usually a bitter pill for most people to swallow but the rewards for this couple (along with many others that have been willing to make the move) was reasonably swift and profound. In their own words; “a more fulfilling life that was effortless to transition to“.
We then moved the two person office out of the living area and into the original master bedroom. This was important for two reasons. Firstly, moving out of the living area enabled them to have a home in which they could entertain without fuss and enjoy family life and yet not be constantly confronted by the office and related work. In fact this area became a play area for the children and where they could easily interact as a family. It also allowed them to rise in the morning and go to a designated work space. In doing so, a stronger intention and more purposeful focus in their daily work routine was created. This had little to do with Feng Shui and more to do with simply separating the home and work spaces to enable single focus in each area – one for work and the other for leisure.
Secondly, from an energetic perspective, the bedroom held the promise of money. And, when you are sleeping in an area with this influence, it weakens the prospect of money and in most cases, and at the same time, diminishes the prospects of stability and the opportunity of reveling in a happy relationship. The type of income that was present in this room was one that is steady and regular as opposed to unexpected windfalls. Whilst the latter is much more interesting it was important to gain a steady and regular wage from their new business.
This move was also successful in that their business got off the ground and indeed and once again in their own words... “the relationship and family life became effortlessly stronger”.
Needless to say, that this special couple and their children may have reaped the results mentioned above even without a Feng Shui consultation. However, I truly believe it would have been considerably more difficult, stressful and time consuming. And, in placing their trust in the unknown, taking this great leap of faith and implementing the recommendations outlined above, this special couple achieved their desired results more effortlessly and swiftly.
